Think about what it is that you truly want for yourself as you look in your face, in your eyes, look at your body. You are going to very lovingly guide your body to change its form, to actually sculpt your body and to communicate to the cells in your body to instruct them to be the shape, the size, and the look that you want them to be.
So now, standing right in front of that mirror, let that mirror disappear, let it vanish so that all there is that exact duplicate version of yourself.
Make sure that the mirror is gone and that you are now standing in front of a duplicate of you.
Step 5: Now, beginning at the very top of the head, use your hands to lovingly, shape and sculpt your entire body.
From the top of your head to the tips of your toes, the things you would like to change, the way that you would like your body to appear. While you sculpt, send love through your hands and your fingers.
You send a very real communication to your skin, your muscles, the tissues to be the size and shape that makes you happier and happier. Let your hands sculpt just as if you were a sculptor, working with clay, taking away the excess or adding more lovingly here and there. Create the right shapes for you.
Take some time to shape it, smooth it, and tighten it, all the way down through every aspect of your physical body. Really create a work of art!
As you do this, trust that your unconscious mind is learning how to change the internal image of your body, how to create this in reality. So take the time to go to every area and create beautiful shapes, wonderful curves and angles that you want and desire.
Give it the perfect tone and form, let your hands absolutely love your body and communicate in a way that tells your body the shape, the size, the muscle tone, every detail that you want your body to learn about of how it is to be shaped.
Step 6: Just look at your work of art. This body that you have formed and sculpted, and notice that these changes are being made inside of your mind as well and that part of your inner mind that is ready and willing to accept a new image of who you are.
New cells and tissues are being formed all the time and sometimes your mind is just waiting for a new communication to create these cells in a new way, healthy, strong, firm, toned. Your mind learning right now every detail of this new shape, of this new image of you.
This body that you look at right now is a body that is loved, that is nurtured by your own hands.
As you look at this body, let it reach out a hand and that hand is going to lead you right into that body so that you become that body, so you feel it, you see through those eyes, almost like you are putting on that body, like putting on a new jacket. You are stepping into that new you and feeling what it is actually like to be inside that new you.
So your mind can get used to what you are beginning to look like, what you're becoming, what you're beginning to feel like. Just take that hand right there and let it pull you in.
And as you enter this body, your mind learns that it is okay for you to be this way. Then just love your body and of course accept your body. Accept that this is who you choose to be.
Step 7: In this new body you continue on the path. You begin to walk with these legs, feel with this stomach, and see through these eyes.
Let it be as real as it can possibly be so your mind learns that there is everything right with being in this body, that this truly is who you are because the more that your inner mind learns that this is positive and this is how you truly accept yourself your mind will begin to match the physical body to the image in your inner mind.
The instructions to the new cells, to your metabolism, to that part of you that decides on your appetite, the level of exercise that you get all those things will begin to change to match this internal image of your body and sending a message to the part of you that knows what actions you need to take this very day to achieve and truly be this new you.
Let yourself get more and more comfortable with this body. Walk in it, be comfortable in it, walk up the path, and look at the world all around you and let it feel really good to be in the body that you truly deserve to be in.
Every time you step into this body, your mind becomes more accustomed, more comfortable, and more used to this being who you really are.
Step 8: Now open your eyes. Bring your awareness back to the room you are in. Trust and accept that your unconscious mind continues to work to match your body to the shape that you have created within your mind. 
Accept that is who your truly are now. Take a nice deep breath, fill yourself with the energy of that breath and let it out.

How to Build a Beautiful Body - 3 Exercises You Should Never Do


Okay, so you want to build a beautiful body. No matter how many times I am asked the question "hey, what do you bench?", my answer is always the same; "I don't know". This is because I don't go to the gym with the intention of finding out how much weight I can bench press.
Bench pressing is the ultimate ego exercise and continues to dominate the egotistical mind as the standard measure of progress. This would be fine if you were a power lifter, but most people who work out regularly at a gym don't fall into this category. You will find that the most common goal amongst gym rats is to lose body fat, gain lean muscle, and sculpt a beautiful physique. 
Well guess what? you are therefore a bodybuilder. Get that in your head first. Now you may not desire to have a physique to the same degree as say a professional bodybuilder, or even a natural competitive amateur bodybuilder, but you desire to create a beautiful body by losing body fat and building lean muscle. Yep, you are a bodybuilder. Once you make this mental shift, you will begin to realise that you can achieve your goals much easier because you are clear on what you are.
So back to the "What do you bench question?". As a bodybuilder you use resistance training to stimulate and tear down muscle. The question of how much weight can you lift becomes irrelevant if you do not satisfy this first rule. Using the right weight with the right technique is paramount to achieving the desired effect.
 Yes, you can go too heavy as a bodybuilder. What happens in this instance is that other muscle groups compensate to cooperatively lift the weight. This lessens the tension on the primary target muscle group, and as a result, less stress is transferred to that targeted muscle and hence less results ensue. In the case of the bench press for example; using too heavy a weight incorporates more triceps, more rear deltoids, more shoulders, more forearms, even the back comes into play. All of this combined effort alleviates tension from the chest muscle which is where the stress should be focused. In bodybuilding, transferring stress to the right muscle group, while limiting the incorporation of supporting muscle groups, is critical for the overall development of the targeted muscle.
Bodybuilding is about visuality. It is about making your physique appear balanced, and proportioned, and appearing aesthetic from every angle. However it is also about optical illusion. Let me give you some examples.
- A dark tanned person looks more defined than a pale skinned person of the same body fat%.
- A well defined 16" arm looks bigger than an undefined 18" arm.
- Well developed calf muscles give more overall balance to the body, than the development of any other body part.
- If you have short hair, as opposed to long hair, your body will look larger.
- A person with overdeveloped biceps appears to lack chest development.
You can see from these examples how much visuality and optical illusion contribute to the overall image of the body. So, taking these things into consideration what are the exercises you should never do, and why not do them? Well the reason is this, they can damage your symmetry. Symmetry is the most critical element of a beautifully developed body.
#1 Do not perform side-bends
No matter how many places I have trained I always see someone incorporating this movement into their routine. The problem with this exercise is that is does not target the obliques. Instead it builds muscle in the area beneath your typical love handles, creating permanent, yes permanent love handles.
 Even if you were to diet down to single digit body fat% you would still have this muscle mass present making your waist line appear wide, and blocky. I have even seen people do this movement holding heavy dumbbells or a cable. I advise against it. Having a nice V taper from your back and lats, combined with nicely rounded shoulders makes the waistline appear smaller. Doing side bends, or weighted side bends makes the waistline look thicker, and no body wants that.
#2 Don't train the forearms
If you are trying to look like Popeye go right ahead, but again, building a beautiful body is about symmetry, proportion, and visuality. Here's the deal. Every movement that requires you to grab hold of something, whether it be pulls up, bench presses, or shoulder raises, to some degree involve the forearms. 
If you overdevelop this muscle group you will make your biceps look small. Even if you have well developed guns, having overdeveloped forearms will make them appear smaller than they really are. Don't train them. They get plenty of work doing everything else.
#3 Don't back squat if you have naturally large glutes
This is the basic squat that requires you to put a barbell across your shoulders and then to perform a regular squat. The problem with this movement is that it engages the gluteus muscles to a large degree, and if you are a person with naturally large glutes you do not want to develop them further.
 Your butt may be firm and even cut, but in regular clothes you look like you still have some junk in the trunk. Not only that, but from a side view your protruding buttocks make the back look undeveloped, and if you haven't developed a thick curved back, it will really show up here. 
Instead, perform front squats, hacks, and walking weighted lunges to develop the quads. These movements place much more stress on the targeted muscle group.
 The reason why most people don't do them is because they are so freakin' difficult. Back squatting is much easier and you can put up a lot more weight. Again feeding the ego and back to the 'how much weight can you lift' mentality. When you focus on stimulating and building the muscle through resistance training, the amount of weight you use becomes irrelevant.
This is what it comes down to. People judge you first by what they see. If you are walking along the beach and are heavy and out of shape, people judge you by that. No body cares what you can bench press, even though you might be a power-lifting champion. 
They are not thinking 'I wonder how much that guy can bench press'. They don't care. You are not attractive enough to get a second thought, let alone a second glance.
On the other hand if your body is proportioned, muscular, sculpted and defined, one of the first questions that comes to a persons mind is 'I wonder how much he benches'. The point is this. It doesn't matter how much you can bench, it only matters how much you look like you can bench. 
A body that is well proportioned, muscular, and lean with beautiful symmetry, will always demand respect. No one is going to mess with you because you look like you're strong. Whether you are or not is irrelevant.
So consider this the next time you train. When you go to the gym, leave your ego at the door. Focus on the finer details of your physique, especially your symmetry. You are there to build a beautiful body, not just to lift weight.

For some reason people have equated muscle building with large, but when it comes to combat, you don't want to go in large. The simple fact is that large weighs more, and is harder to move around.

Yes, if you can end a fight in one punch, large might be the trick, but how long do fights in the ring last? And, you will notice that not all champs are candidates for muscle building competitions. Now, I wouldn't be so foolish to say that a person should do no weightlifting in their martial arts training. But, I would say that the bulk of their training should be aimed at body weight calisthenics.

It is a body weight that you are attempting to pummel or toss around in the ring, and it is your own body weight that has got to do it, so body weight calisthenics makes sense.

Now, having said all that, let's look at the second misconception...no pain no gain.
This is one of the most ridiculous and downright harmful concepts ever to be foisted upon the unwary.
You're saying that if I hurt myself during training, if I risk damaging my body during training, I'll be able to be a better fighter.
No, I'll be a crippled fighter, and that's the facts.

Yes, it's fun to push oneself, but at the slightest sign of pain, you should be backing off. And, you should learn where the pain starts, so you can learn how to not get so close to it in the first place.

The third misconception is that you don't get better with age. Yes, you will hit a peak sometime in your life, but generally, you should be able to become stronger all the way through your life, right up to the last couple of years. This is not a fantasy, but an actuality.

So consider yoga. In the first place, it is a body calisthenic, and a rather unique one. Instead of no pain no gain, one nudges the body up to the threshold of pain, but before the pain starts, he relaxes.

That not only doesn't enter into pain, but, as the person becomes more able, he raises his tolerance without ever entering into. This is going to make for a body that can train harder and longer. Furthermore, in doing Yoga one achieves awareness, balance, relaxation, and all the other things that a truly great fighter needs.

Most important, you can work out all day long. Serious. After the break in period, you could do yoga ten hours a day, and feel refreshed.

5 Training Tips to Sculpt and Tone Your Lower Body

Many people are after a set of six pack abs. But many are also on the hunt for toned legs and glutes. Here are some hard hitting, intense, and proven ways to firm up, tone, and strengthen these areas for you.
If you want to maximize your strength and the overall appearance of your lower body, then these are some key exercises that will help you on the way.

They are all backed by training results, and research. So these are the exercises you will be focusing on.

By doing these exercises you will be sure to get the most from your efforts. I know that for myself, when it's time to train legs, I want to get in and out of the gym as fast as possible.

1: The full squat, is an exercise most women will avoid. Instead, they will shorten the movement. This will prevent them from getting all they can from the lift. This is only a good choice if you have preexisting knee pain, or an injury. The last few inches at the bottom of the squat are going to incorporate the glutes and the hamstrings more than any other part of the exercise.

2: Deadlifts incorporate a great deal of the muscles in your legs. The first part of the movement will incorporate a lot of help from the glutes and the hamstrings. If your aim is to tone your glutes and firm your hamstrings then put a small block under your heels. This will cause the exercise to use them even more.

3: One legged squats are another very good exercise to bring up your glutes and get the tone in your legs that you are really looking for. This one is pretty tough, so don't expect to be using much weight. You can do this one with either dumbbells or a barbell. I prefer to use dumbbells. I feel I have more control over the exercise with them.
4: Find some stairs and go running up them. Running up hill will get all of the muscles in your legs involved. Your legs will have to push your body up the hill or stairs giving you a really good burn and a good cardio workout too. It will get your heart rate up more than any gym exercise will.

5: Stiff leg deadlifts will completely zero in on your glutes and hamstrings.

You will know this as soon as you start the exercise. There is an extreme pull to your hamstrings and glutes as soon as the exercise begins. For this very reason you need to be careful not to use too much weight during this lift. If you take precautions this exercise is totally safe and effective.

You most likely don't want to do all of these exercises in one session. Make sure to try them all, they will have you ready for summer in no time.

A Complete Body Sculpting Routine

When choosing a complete body sculpting routine, you need to look at several things: the areas worked, the complexity, and the overall effectiveness. But sometimes, you just want someone to tell you what to do. In this complete body sculpting routine, you will get to workout all of the major muscles groups without a lot of equipment or fancy movements. If you're a beginner, this routine will be a great place to start your exercise journey.
To begin, this complete body sculpting routine needs to be done every other day, or about two to three times a week. It's best if you skip a day in between the workout as your muscles need a chance to repair themselves.

When you do body sculpting exercises, you're breaking the muscles down. This is a good thing. When they muscles have time to rest and repair, your muscles become stronger and better toned. If you don't have time to do the entire workout, you may want to split it up into upper and lower body, but then you will need to still skip a day between each of these groups.

For example, you might workout your lower body on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and your upper body on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
The upper body portion of this complete body sculpting routine should include the following exercises:
* Pushups

For your lower body, you will want to follow a complete body sculpting routine that includes:
* Squats
* Deadlifts
* Calf raises
* Leg lifts - outer and inner
While this routine seems much simpler than the upper body routine, the larger muscles in the legs are the reason for fewer exercises. With fewer muscles, you don't need extra exercises to target them. You can follow the same repetition guidelines as you would for the upper body, though you may need to add weight immediately as your lower body strength tends to be higher naturally.
By following this complete body sculpting routine, you should see results within four to eight weeks. If you include some cardiovascular exercises at the same time, the results will be quicker.
